Thanks Kelly.  I've written you off-line, but I wanted to send a quick note to the list as well, to say that we really need this kind of information to make sure the process is working as it should.  I'd appreciate hearing about any problems with the systems now in place for obtaining accessible reports on line, or Braille, Large Print and audio reports by mail.  Even though there is a Central Source for ordering the free annual credit reports, each agency has its own process for delivering credit reports.   If you write, please let me know which credit reporting agency you were trying to obtain a report from.  (The three involved in this initiative are TransUnion, Equifax, and Experian.)

For what it is worth, I ordered a braille copy of my credit report recently.  While the process for ordering and selecting my alternative format of choice was straight forward, the end results were disappointing as today I received a print copy of the report.  I see no way to report such an error or otherwise rectify the problem or order a replacement from the same bureau.

People who are blind or visually impaired within the meaning of the Americans with Disabilities Act may now order Braille, Large Print or Audio credit reports from any of the three credit reporting agencies by calling, toll free: 877-322-8228.

Free annual credit reports are also available on line in accessible formats by going to www.annualcreditreport.com
