Hello Lars,

 

Don't know if you are looking at the desktop or dynamically generated PDF, but there are

a number of applications that meet this description. The majority of them come from Adobe,

but there are some from other software publishers and open source.

 

On the desktop

 

Adobe Acrobat Professional (for existing PDF documents and forms that need to have

accessible attributes added to them)

 

Adobe Acrobat PDFMaker for Microsoft Office

 

Adobe FrameMaker

 

Adobe InDesign

 

Adobe LiveCycle Designer (for PDF forms)

 

Microsoft Office add in for Office 2007: Save as PDF or XPS

 

Netcentric Commonlook (desktop)

 

OpenOffice Writer and the associated products in the OpenOffice Suite generate tagged accessible PDFs

 

 

Server Side

 

Adobe LiveCycle PDF Generator

 

Netcentric Commonlook Enterprise

 

You may still need to review the results in Adobe Acrobat Professional to verify that
the process generated a properly encoded and logically ordered file. Also not all of these

solutions pass all of the necessary attributes over (most notably a language identifier) which

can be added using Acrobat. Acrobat Professional can be considered a finishing tool in this case.

I am looking for a list of PDF generators to produce accessible PDF in accordance with Adobes guidelines. Is anyone aware of such a list or a study that evaluates PDF generators for accessibility?
