Thread-topic: Office Update Problem

I tried using the Office Update for 2003 on my home machine and was told that I had to 
"view" some IE information bar to ensure that the Activex control had been successfully 
installed.  There seemed to be no accessible manner of using the Office update control; 
any ideas welcome.
