Unified Web Site Accessibility Guidelines - Redirect

The most recent version of the WAI Page Authoring Guidelines is located on the W3C WAI site. It combines input from many different projects and programs working on web accessibility.

When the WAI was formed in March 1997, there were over 40 documents that had been written to address web accessibility. In January 1998, the WAI-GL working group adopted the Trace Unified Web Guidelines (version 8) as the basis for their guidelines document. Trace currently works closely with the WAI to continue to refine and improve the guidelines documents. Gregg Vanderheiden, Trace Center Director, currently serves as co-chair and editor and Wendy Chisholm, Human Factors Engineer, is also an editor.
