This page contains information resulting from the Trace Center's past work on development of techniques for built-in, cross-disability accessible automated teller machines (ATMs) and other public information and transaction machines (ITMs) such as fare vending machines and kiosks.

Please see EZ® Access for information on Trace-developed interface enhancements which can be implemented on ATMs and ITMs to make them more usable and accessible for people with disabilities and elders.

In 1999-2000, the Trace Center prepared information for the U.S. Access Board on making ITMs accessible. See Making Information/Transaction Machines (ITMs) Accessible (Final Report).

Funding for this work has been provided by the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR), U.S. Department of Education, under grant H133E980008.
